League: Central Basketball D-League (CBDL)
Location: Houston, TX
Availability: Immediate positions available
Opportunities: Sales, Media, Marketing, Various Intern positions (See Below)
Duration: Duration of Season (Starting beginning of 2015)
Hours: 15-30 hours per week, Weekends on Game Days
Compensation: No pay (Until team decides to bring you on as full employee, if available)

The Houston Horned Frogs are looking for hardworking, dedicated, students to intern for the 2014 - 2015 Season. Interns will gain valuable hands on experience which will benefit them in future endeavors. Qualifications:

- College Student/Aspiring professional in any of the following positions
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet applications.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Ability to travel (doesn’t include all internships).

 

Marketing & Sales

Responsibilities include administration and implementation of a marketing and sales program which will reach the target audience for the Houston Horned Frogs team. Intern will also assist in the planning of game day operations. Individual must be creative, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and be able to think outside of the box.

 

Sports Information Intern

Responsibilities include recording statistics for every home and away game, collaborating with other departments to update website, and creating press releases/newsletters. Individual must have knowledge of the game of basketball, be attentive and also be creative.

 

Game Day Operations Intern

Responsibilities include administration of all game-day related events, preparations, entertainment, and various other game day functions. Primary responsibilities will include coordinating and managing all events during each home game; these include, but are not limited to, National Anthem performers, half-time entertainers, promotional events, ball boys, etc. Individual must be creative and personable.

 

Media Production Intern

Responsibilities include creating video production pieces for the team’s existing web site, YouTube and local TV networks, as well as creatively designing and updating various media outlets such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. This individual must have strong design and production experience, strong computer skills, a good sense of composition, creativity and attention to detail, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects. Video and multimedia experience, as well as web design and an interest in sports are a plus. The ideal candidate will have a background in video production, graphic design and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Internet Applications, Photoshop, HTML, etc.

 

Corporate Sponsorship Intern

Responsibilities include finding/researching potential sponsorship partners and designing and implementing sponsorship packages for various corporations. Individual should be creative, have the ability to communicate and interact with corporate clients, and possess strong organizational skills.

 

Business Development and Travel Intern

Responsibilities include organizing and coordinating travel for all away games. Interns will also design and implement fundraising programs for the expansion team. Primary responsibilities include booking hotels, team dinners, transportation, and creating various fundraisers. Individual must possess strong organizational & creative skills.

 

Development Intern

Responsibilities include organizing and coordinating fundraising programs for the team. Individual must be creative and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
